Kalispell, Montana

Montana Made. Montana Loved.

Kalispell Brewing Company is the city’s first independent craft brewery located in historic downtown Kalispell, Montana. Founded in 2012 by the husband-wife duo, Cole Schneider and Maggie Doherty, the English-major, former ski racing, beer-loving couple launched their love of beer and brewery culture by resurrecting the former Hendricksen Motors building on Main Street. After a long, and often arduous renovation, Kalispell Brewing opened its doors in the summer of 2014.

Kalispell Brewing says that the difference is in the decoction. The extra step: decoction is a time-honored brewing technique that allows sugars to be extracted from the malt more effectively. To some it’s no longer necessary with today’s specialty malts, but it’s what gives our lagers the complexity and balance we strive for. And when your head brewer wears lederhosen while tending to the Oktoberfest mash, it’s pretty obvious that his passion for the craft outweighs any inconvenience that stems from the extra effort. It’s traditional, it’s technical and it’s time consuming. Don’t think too much about it. We’ll do the labor while you savor.

Kalispell Brewing Company’s values include:

Make people happy with beer.

After all, the difference between happiness and hoppiness is just one letter.

Support & celebrate the place where we live and play.

The Flathead Valley is our home, and we like to raise a glass after a day’s worth of adventures.

Cultivate an appreciation for beer.

Life is already complex enough, beer shouldn’t be.

Never compromise on taste, quality, or ingredients.

If we can’t make it right, we won’t make it.

“The people are what we love the most about our brewery!” The folks at Kalispell Brewing love the brewery community especially the camaraderie. “We are all in this together, and everyone is willing to give advice and help each other out.“ Next time you are in the area, stop in for a Two Ski Brewski Pilsner and enjoy a chat with a local!
