Great Beer, Great Food, Great Atmosphere, and Great People

Mighty Mo Brew Co. was opened in 2013 by friends and co-founders Seth Swingley and Casey Kingsland. After spending some time in the Pacific Northwest, Casey returned to Great Falls dreaming of craft beer. He started home-brewing in his garage for family and friends including Seth. Seth had been working in the corporate world and found himself ready for a change. They began discussing the idea of opening a brewery in Great Falls. After many miles, a lot of research beers, and about three years of writing a business plan, they were able to secure a location and funding for their project. The rest is history!

Mighty Mo is not a person, but a nickname for the Missouri River which runs right through Great Falls. When asked what they love about Mighty Mo, they spoke of the many friendships and how they’ve met so many great people in the industry.  “Our employees and our customers love the Mo like it was their own, rightly so, without them we wouldn’t be here today!”

One thing they both love about the Montana Brewery Community is the partnerships created with other breweries. “There isn’t another industry where if you are out of one of your main ingredients, you could go down the street and borrow some from your competitor. Brewers are helping each other figure out ways to brew a better beer, which they in turn could be competing for the same customer, or even the same award at a brew fest. Most people in this craft industry in Montana are truly here for the better good of our state and our industry. That’s as refreshing as a Hazy IPA on a hot Summer day!”

Mighty Mo was the first brewery in Montana to use a mobile canning company to package their product. After that, they were the first and only brewery to date to brew and package under an Alternating Proprietorship agreement with another brewery. Similar to contract brewing but instead of another brewery doing the brewing for you, you are just going to their facility and doing it yourself.

The folks at Mighty Mo say: “We make it our goal to make sure our customer has a high-quality beer to go with our award-winning food, while enjoying the great atmosphere in our pub. Quality and consistency are important to us so our customers can have one of our beers at another local watering hole and know they can expect the same beer and quality they would have at our pub.”
